Wordless Wednesday: Stumped!

It's not everyday something like this shows up in Hubby's upholstery shop.  But since it did, I just had to share it with all of you.

My first thought when I saw it was, "How in the heck are you supposed to upholster that?!"

And now that I've had a little time to think about it, I'm still stumped!

Right Now...

Last week was not a good week for me.  Officially, I'm calling it the Worst Week of 2012.  I know the year is still young and a lot could happen in the next 10.5 months, but that's exactly what it felt like to me.  It was a difficult week that started last Monday with the death of my puppy and ended on Friday with me having a major panic attack.

It's going to take a while for some of those problems to work themselves out and when they do, I might write about them here.  But for now, I really need to get my mind off of the negative stuff and focus my attention elsewhere.    So...when I found this post from Grace at Arms Wide Open, who got the idea from The Paper Mama, I thought it was just the thing I needed to get me on my way to being my regular happy, chipper self.

Right now I'm...

Obsessing over...

  • Where the heck the first half of February went?
  • The rash I've broken into because of all of the stress from last week, wondering if it could possibly be the chicken pox, even though I know it's not, and worrying about it anyway.
  • The weather.  It's either not cold enough, too cold, too wet, too gloomy or not warm enough.    (I'm getting old!)

Working on...

  • Staying positive and finding joy in every moment.  I know "this too shall pass", so I'm not going to let one bad week keep me from living my life and enjoying it.
  • This blog post and getting back into the groove of blogging.  (I've missed you guys!)

Thinking about....

  • How awesome the Chili Cheese Fries I made for lunch were!  (Swoon!)
  • How I haven't posted a new recipe on my food blog in over a week.
  • When I'm going to go finish enrolling Hope for High School. (Only have 2 more weeks left.)
  • Valentine's Day.
  • Our favorite aunt's birthday tomorrow.
  • The pile of dishes I should be washing.

Anticipating...

  • A much better week than last week.
  • Warmer weather.
  • Doing something romantic with Hubby this week.
  • Our Semana Santa camping trip.

Listening to...

  • How quiet the kiddies are when they're doing homework..
  • Hubby working in the shop just a few feet away.
  • Hope singing along to Adele's Rolling in the Deep that she's listening to on her MP3 player.
  • The Van Halen song that inspired the title of this post.

Eating...
Just finished eating lunch, but I could use a cafecito to help warm me up.  The sun may be shining outside, but it's still plenty cold.

Wishing...

  • It weren't so cold.
  • That time would slow down and my kiddies would stop growing up so fast.
  • I had a clothes dryer so the laundry wouldn't pile up when it rains all week!
  • That everything will turn out fine.

All Dogs Go to Heaven

I really hope that the animated movie with the same title as this post is right, because we just lost the best and sweetest little puppy ever.  Our little Pingüina was hit by a car Monday morning.  She didn't survive.  We are devastated and heartbroken.

Pingüina was a perfect little puppy.

We all fell in love with her the moment we saw her.  After finding out that she had been living in an abusive home, we decided to adopt her.  The kiddies thought she looked like a little penguin, so we named her Pingüina.

She was more than just a pet to us, she was part of our family.  She was my companion throughout the day, while the kiddies were at school.  She'd play in the kitchen while I made lunch, happy to snack on anything that I "accidentally" dropped on the floor.  And she curled up on the bed beside me, while I worked on the computer.

The kiddies loved Pingüina so much, that they mentioned her in their letters to Santa and El Niño Dios.

And Pingüina loved the kiddies too.  Whether she was chasing them around the house, playing fetch with one my chanclas (flip-flops) or just clowning around.  She was always the first one the kiddies hugged when they got home from school.

Losing Pingüina has been hard on us all.  We will never forget the love and happiness she brought to our lives.  She will forever be in our hearts.

Rest in Peace, Pingüina
Te queremos y te extrañamos.  Besitos.

Super Bowl Predictions 2012

Not sure if you're aware of this or not, but there's a really big football game that I and millions of people all over the globe are looking forward to watching this Sunday.  Maybe you've heard of it?  It's called the Super Bowl.

I've watched it every year since the Super Bowl Shuffle.

I'm a Patriots fan, as is my sports loving Hubby, and we couldn't be happier that our team made it to the Super Bowl.  Again.  This is what, the 4th time in the last 10 years?  Obviously, we want the Patriots to win this rematch of Super Bowl XLII back in 2008.  By a lot.

So with that in mind, we took it upon ourselves to conduct  a little experiment.  A highly sophisticated and very scientific experiment with the help of a team of highly qualified researchers and state of the art technology (Playstation 2 for you non-scientific types) to see if we could predict the winner of Sunday's big game.

Experiment #1

Prediction 1

As you can see, my Patriots didn't fair so well in this first test.  I was not happy with these results at all, so I did what any respectable scientist would do...I demanded more testing.  Best two out of three?

Experiment #2

Prediction 2

The results from this second test were almost identical to the results obtained in the first experiment.  I'm starting to see a pattern develop here and I don't like it one bit.  Good thing these first two tests were really just practice runs.  I'm sure we'll get more accurate results with our next test.

Experiment #3

Prediction 3

Oh!  So close!  I was sure that if we ran just one more test, we'd get the results we were hoping for.  Unfortunately, my team of researchers had to go to bed, because they had to get up early to go to school the next morning.

So maybe I didn't get the results I wanted, but I still learned a valuable lesson....science, schmience!  Now I remember why I never liked science in high school!

Go Pats!

Who do you think is going to win?
