*Last week was a total fail for me in regards to my Blog Every (Week)Day in May challenge. Paperwork needed to be filled out, copies needed to be made, and photos needed to be taken in preparation for Hope's impending high school graduation and college entrance exam. (Every week there is something new!) Add to that a couple of difficult weeks in which my father-in-law's disposition has been in constant decline and well, it's a miracle I got anything accomplished. (Prayers for my suegro's mental health are always greatly appreciated.)
*Speaking of graduation... Hope took her college entrance exam this weekend! We won't get the results until the end of July, but as soon as I know something I will keep you all posted.
And today Hope picked up her "official" school photos for her diploma and título de carrera técnica. We also did a little shopping and bought Hope's dress for her graduation mass and ceremony. Now all that's left to shop for is a fancy prom-style dress for the graduation party. I'm getting all the feels and we still have a good two months to go until graduation.
*Mother's Day came and went. (Día de las Madres is always celebrated on May 10th in Mexico, no matter what day of the week it falls on.) The day was filled with love, presents from Alf and the kiddies (including a new Martha Stewart cookbook to add to my collection), and lots of laughter. What more could a mom ask for?!
*The day after Mother's Day we had an earthquake! I'm a California girl, born and raised, and am pretty used to earthquakes and aftershocks, but after 15 years of living earthquake free it came as quite a shock. Thank goodness there were no serious damages to be reported in our small town. And I hope I can go another 15 years without feeling another one.
*My favorite show, Grey's Anatomy, finished it's 12th season and I was shocked that there were no major tragedies to report. (That almost never happens. Shonda Rhimes has a habit of killing beloved characters.) I won't go in to details to avoid spoiling it for those who haven't watched, but one long-time character announced that she is leaving the show.
*I am $100 pesos richer thanks to a bet I made with Alf on the Pachuca vs. León semi-final fútbol match. We've been married for 21 years and Alf still hasn't come to the realization that I win the majority of our bets. Oh well, more easy money for me!
What have you been up to the past couple of weeks? Fill me in on all the juicy details in the comments below.
