The townsfolk line Main Street to watch and follow the parade all the way to El Jardin.
There used to be donkey races around El Jardin, but sadly that tradition has slowly been disappearing the last couple of years.
Now it's mostly about drinking Agua Loca and dressing up your donkey.
This parade wouldn't be complete without the tinacos full of Agua Loca being passed out along the parade route. Agua Loca is a mixture of Kool-Aid and every kind of liquor imaginable: whisky, tequila, vodka, etc.
Don't forget to hand the drivers a glass of that Agua Loca.
When the parade ends in El Jardin (townsquare), a Donkey Queen is crowned and parades around the square atop her faithful steed.
Have you ever been to a donkey parade?
