A little of this and a little of that...

Happy April Fools!  Sorry to disappoint you, but there isn't going to be a trick post trying to fool everyone into believing something that isn't true.  That type of post can be fun, but it's even funner when you aren't expecting it, like on Dia de los Santos Inocentes (Mexican April Fools) in December.  Reading that post still makes me laugh out loud.

My washing machine is up and running, once again.  Hubby's uncle stopped by the day after My House Hates Me and reattached the fallen doohickey.  It took all of about 15 minutes and cost a mere 50 pesos (less than 5 dollars).  Now I am back to my never ending battle with Mount Washmore.

Hubby and I finally agreed to buy a bigger fridge!  Not huge like the fancy refrigerators in the States, but bigger than the one we had.  We were planning to go fridge shopping this weekend, but we've had to put those plans on hold for a bit.  (I'll explain in a second.)  I'm just happy I was able to talk Hubby out of getting the dorm-room mini fridge.

The reason Hubby and I are going to have to wait on buying a fridge, is that we have another unexpected expense that we aren't sure how much is going to cost us.  Dora, our Ford Explorer, broke down today.  Hubby thinks it's the clutch.  I have no idea.  All I know is that Hubby can't get it into any gear and the clutch doesn't work.  Our mechanic is coming to pick it up on Monday.  I hope it's nothing too serious.

Daylight Savings starts in most parts of Mexico this Sunday, so don't forget to "Spring Forward".  I am not looking forward to it, but that is a tale for another day.

  1. Some good and some bad, but I hope everything works out for Dora. Sorry to hear about that! I'm sure you'll get her out and back to exploring in no time though! =)

  2. Sounds like the linkage on the clutch has come apart on Dora's underside. It might be as simple as a broken pin that holds the clutch linkage together, if the petal is going to the floor, yet the clutch is not engaging, then it may be repairable at home. The way to check is to crawl under and have someone press the petal. If you see a metal rod or bar swinging in the air, not hooked up to anything-the fix is hooking it back up. A bright flashlight helps in any under truck adventures.
