Sunday Funnies: Man on the Moon

Yesterday, as the kiddies and I watched Saturday morning cartoons, one of the cartoons paraphrased the "One small step for man" quote.

Knowing that this was the perfect moment to teach them a little American history,  I waited until the commercial break to ask...

Me:  What were the first words spoken when the Gringos landed on the moon?
Nick:  "One small step for man.  One giant step for mankind."

Me:  Very good.   Do you know who said it?

Nick:  Mom, that's so easy.  It was Lance Armstrong!

 Close enough.

  1. Aren't you glad others come up with our best stories? We are merely the teller of those tales.

  2. Wow, I'm impressed! Where do you think your Nick learned that?

  3. Jackie, I honestly do not know! Nick's a pretty smart kid and likes to watch Discovery Channel and Animal Planet. I asked him where he learned about the quote and he said he doesn't know where he learned it, he just knew. As for Lance Armstrong...he hears that name around the house all the time. My hubby is an avid cyclist and BIG Lance Armstrong fan. :)

  4. It's not our fault that these stories just fall into our laps! :) I just hope no one took offense to this tale. :)
