A recap of what's been going on in our lives this past week.
*Hubby came down with the same throat and ear infection that I had, fever and all! Aside from his run-ins with Birria, I can't remember the last time Hubby got sick. The doctor ordered bed rest, antibiotics, plenty of liquids and no work. That was probably the hardest part for Hubby...not working. Not because we're hard pressed for money, but because he isn't used to not doing anything at all for days. I told him to just rest and enjoy the extra TLC that he's getting from his mom, the kiddies and me.
*I went in for my much needed root canal on Thursday. Dr. Manny did an excellent job of cleaning and drilling my tooth. I didn't feel any pain at all. But when it came time to work on the actual root canals and pulp, I couldn't take it. The pain was too much. Honestly, I have never felt anything so painful. Not even when I labored through my four induced labors.
Endodoncia is the Spanish word for "root canal", but I think it's really just another word for "torture". And since I couldn't go through with it, I get to back later this week for another torture session. I'd rather have my wisdom teeth pulled!
But not all was horrible. After the anesthesia wore off and I recovered from the slightly traumatic experience, I realized I was pain free! For the first time in weeks, nothing hurt. Not my ear. Not my teeth. Nothing! I can sleep now AND I don't need any pain medication!
I'm still not looking forward to going back, but I know Dr. Manny's has to finish the job, or else the pain might come back. And anything, even a root canal, would be better than that.
*As the days passed, Hubby's earache grew worse. It got to the point where even his teeth were starting to hurt. After a visit with Dr. Manny, Hubby learned that he too is in need of a root canal. I know that Hubby more than likely contracted the ear and throat infection from me, but I didn't know toothaches were contagious too! Dr. Manny changed Hubby's meds and now Hubby is feeling much better.
*I really hope this is the end of all of the illnesses, toothaches and sleepless nights. I miss blogging, cooking, baking...I miss my "normal" life! And I miss all of you!
*And one more thing...Today is my 2nd Blogiversary! Can you believe that I've been blogging for two years? Who knew that after writing my very first blog post, I'd still be at it two years later? The best thing to come from this blog is the wonderful friendships I've made. I love you all and thank you so much for being a part of our lives.
