My worst nightmare coming true

Remember that recurring dream I told you about in Toothless in Mexico?  The one where my teeth fall out?

Well...it's coming true.

This morning, as I was enjoying my breakfast, I broke another tooth.  Yes, you read correctly.  I BROKE ANOTHER TOOTH!

What is happening to me?  I'm falling apart.

I'm too young to be toothless.

It's not like I have horrible teeth.  I have a really nice smile.  (Don't believe me? Just look at the photograph at the top of this post.)

Scared to death thinking that I'd need dentures, I ran to my dentist's office to tell him of my recent dental mishap.  He scheduled an appointment for later in the day, where he told me that I'm going to need another crown.  But no root canal.  Thank heavens!

And even if I did need one, I'm at a point right now where I'll endure just about anything to save the few teeth I have left.

  4. Thank you, Jackie! I took a bit out of a taco de barbacoa. They're not too hard or crunchy, but it was enough to break my tooth.

  8. You experience brings home to all of us how we need to take care of our teeth. I rather doubt that you are even close to getting dentures. Sometimes a tooth just weakens and breaks. It has nothing to do really with the health of the rest of the teeth.
