And They called it Puppy Love...

We have increased the size of our home by 4 feet, er, paws! This little guy, whom we've named Brownie, was found outside my hubby's shop on Saturday. Our hearts just melted at the sight of him. We fed him and let the kids play with him for awhile, but had every intention of returning him back to the street. Well, it only took a few minutes before all 4 of my children sang in unison..."Can we keep him?" Now, who can resist 5 pairs of puppy dog eyes? Obviously not my hubby and me. We decided to keep him and let him be the kids' belated present for El Dia del Niño. We made the kiddies happy and saved a poor helpless puppy from a hard life on the streets!

With Love,

  1. ah, how cute is he! Posting puppy pictures means that we followers will want a full account of his days. He looks so young to be away from his mommy.

  2. Leslie,
Unfortunately many of the stray dogs here have internal parasites such as heart worm. They are fairly easy to eliminate, however. I recommend that you take your puppy to a vet who will give Brownie a good looking over and an emetic if necessary. This is to avoid having your little doggie become sick and perhaps die prematurely at an early age.

  3. Chrissy and Keith,
Of course I'll be posting puppy pics and updates.

    Bob,
Thank you so much for all of your helpful information. We do plan on taking Brownie to the vet this week to have him "desparasitado".

  4. Congratulations on your new family member! Our two black dogs make our family complete, and we've talked about what good dogs rottweilers can be. I think you will be very happy!

  5. Nancy,
We are very excited about the newest member of our family. I have never had a dog as a pet, always been a cat person. I'm sure you're dogs are gorgeous creatures. Truth be told, I'm not sure what kind of dog Brownie is!

  6. You will find him to be a wonderful addition to your family. Hopefully you will give him the attention better than the status quo for the area.
They can teach your children responsibility and will provide much more than you imagine !
